Session Information

Session Dates: September 19th, 2024 - December 5th, 2024 (Thursday evenings)

Session Times: to be determined

Session Location: James Keating Elementary School (upstairs in the library)

Session Fees: $200 for thirteen weeks (cash or etransfer to northernspiritmusic.on@gmail.com)

Instrument Rentals: violin $10/month, viola $15/month, cello $50/month, bass $65/month (cash only)

Rental Deposit: $100 damage deposit, returned at end of session (cash only)

Northern Spirit Music Policies & Procedures

1. Session fees and instrument rental fees are due on or before the date of the first lesson/group meeting. If joining after lessons commence, payment is due on or before the first lesson attended.

2. All session fees are non-refundable after lessons/group meetings begin. Where extenuating circumstances occur, the Board will consider and vote on the matter at their discretion.

3. Students/players must arrive promptly to allow for set up and tuning. Likewise, students/players must pack up and depart promptly to allow ample time for the next group to begin. All students/players are responsible for ensuring the lesson/group space is left tidy (chairs put away, instruments/personal belongings collected, etc.).

4. Students/players are expected to be committed to attending lessons/group meetings and practicing in between lessons/group meetings. Where students/players cannot attend a lesson/group meeting, please email, call or text the instructor Hilary (northernspiritmusic.on@gmail.com/705-209-5058).

5. Students/players who are found to be causing discord during lessons/group meetings, through their attitude or behaviour, may be asked to leave the session immediately and will forfeit any fees they have paid. The decision to remove a student/player from the session will be considered by the Board in consultation with the instructor and must be passed by a majority of the board members.

6. Northern Spirit Music is not responsible for claims of loss, theft or damage to instruments, cases, or other valuables or personal property. Students/players assume all risk of any and all such losses or damages. In order to prevent damage and/or injury, we strongly recommend that players keep the floor clear of instruments and cases. Cases should be placed around the perimeter of the rehearsal area on the floor, tables or stage during rehearsal. When not being played, instruments should be placed in a safe and secure place.

7. In the event of a cancellation by the instructor, every attempt will be made to make up for the missed lesson in some way if possible. In the event of a cancellation due to weather, etc., the lesson will not be rescheduled.
